Not a lot of detail. Hopefully simple but effective. Acrylic on box (deep edge) canvas. 40" (102cm) x 18" (45cm).
Found this guy basking in the sun on our deck. He was nice enough to sit still for a few decent macro shots.
Storms have torn the supporting bank away from this tree. Like many along the Nova Scotia coast, it will soon fall to the sea.

I shot these trees from far far away, and blurred them, the colors and shapes made a perfect abstract image.
This is an olive tree in the patio of the Church of Multiplication, in Tabgha, on the shore of Sea of Galilee, Israel. Probably, the olive tree is the most beautiful tree in the world.
Tabgha (Arabic: الطابغة, al-Tabigha; Hebrew: עין שבע, Ein Sheva which means "spring of seven") is an area situated on the north-western shore of the Sea of Galilee in Israel. It is traditionally accepted as the place of the miracle of the multiplication of the loaves and fishes (Mark 6:30–46) and the fourth resurrection appearance of Jesus (John 21:1–24) after his Crucifixion. Between the Late Muslim period and 1948, it was the site of a Palestinian Arab village. source: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabgha
I was hopeful that an early morning trek to the top of Clingman's Dome in the Great Smoky Mountains would yield a spectacular view of the sunrise. Not even two minutes after capturing this first image, the top of the mountain became shrouded in a thick cloud/fog and despite the gusty wind, would not lift or dissipate. The other photographers and I stood around waiting for the time of the sunrise but there was none to be had. Early bird catches the worm, right?
